My clients often want to cultivate a kinder inner voice but find it hard to know how to speak to themselves more kindly, when criticism comes to mind so quickly. I'll be taking a little break from Mother's Circles after this one, because....well, life's been hectic and I need a little break 😉 (I know you get it). But I can't wait to create a beautiful, safe and welcoming space for the women who come and join me on the 15th for 2 glorious hours of conversation, reflection, guided meditation, lots of "me too" moments and of course, tea. ☕ Don't miss out! Then on the 30th, I'm delighted to be the speaker at Boronia Library's Ovarian Cancer Fundraiser. The topic we've chosen for the night is moving from self-criticism to compassion. It's a topic that comes up with so many of my clients and that I'm often asked about. Come and deepen your understanding of where that self-critical voice comes from, what it's trying to achieve and how to cultivate a kinder, more supportive voice towards yourself. Do you worry about disappointing or letting people Do you worry about disappointing or letting people down? This is one of the most common reasons that women don’t set boundaries. We’ve been taught that we need to avoid disappointing people to be acceptable and “good”. But often, when we DON’T set boundaries we ARE still letting someone down. We are letting ourselves down. This can be tolerable for a while, but if we keep ignoring our own needs, eventually we won’t be able to ignore our stress levels, overwhelm and resentment. We need to accept that our boundaries may disappoint others, but that doesn’t mean that they are wrong, irrelevant or unimportant. Your needs matter too. Is there a boundary in your life that you’ve been resisting setting because of the possible impact on others? P.S.
